Ameera Jet
05

The foundations of Ameera Sailing Team were laid in 2004 by a group of family members and close friends brought together by a shared passion for sailing. Since its inception, Ameera’s greatest strength has been its spirit of camaraderie, mutual trust, and long-standing team cohesion.
From 2010 onwards, the team shifted its focus away from handicap racing systems toward one-design classes, where performance is defined by boat handling, tactics, and teamwork rather than rating advantages. During this period, Ameera competed in numerous national and international regattas—primarily across the Mediterranean—successfully representing Turkey aboard Melges 20, Melges 24, Melges 32, and J/70 class yachts.
Beyond competition, Ameera Sailing Team has played a pioneering role in the development of the one-design sailing culture in Turkey. In 2016, the team led the establishment of the J/70 class in Turkey and has since organized numerous Turkish J/70 regattas over the years.
To date, more than 150 sailors have raced under the Ameera banner. Nevertheless, the team has consistently chosen to compete within close-knit crews, preserving the same spirit, discipline, and shared values. This philosophy has shaped Ameera into not only a competitive racing team, but also a strong and enduring sailing family.
