AHMET EKER HELM
Ahmet Eker is one of Türkiye’s leading keelboat racers and among the most experienced helmsmen in the J/70 class. He began sailing as an amateur in 1988 and has been actively competing in yacht racing since 2009. Eker is widely recognized for his long-standing presence and consistent high-level performance in the J/70 class. Together with his team, he claimed the 2022 J/70 Turkish Championship with the boat Kaymak, earning the national champion title.
On the international stage, he achieved a major milestone by finishing second in the One-Pro division at the 2023 J/70 World Championship with the Eker Sailing Team.
In addition, Eker has recorded notable results such as first place in the Corinthian division at the 2020 J/70 Midwinter Championship, further underlining his competitiveness and contribution to the growth of the J/70 fleet in Türkiye.
Beyond race results, Ahmet Eker has played an important role in promoting and strengthening the one-design racing culture in Türkiye, supporting the development of the class through long-term commitment and leadership.
