KEREM ÖZKAN TRIMMER
Born in Istanbul in 1976, Kerem Özkan was introduced to sailing at the age of 10 in 1986 and began his racing career the same year. Competing in Optimist, 380, Dragon, keelboat and 470 classes throughout his childhood and youth, he built a versatile and solid sailing foundation. In 1993, he was selected for the Turkish National Team in the 470 class and went on to represent Türkiye at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. In the following years, he achieved numerous successes in both the 470 and various keelboat classes. From 2001 onward, Özkan focused primarily on keelboat racing, competing with some of Türkiye’s leading teams such as Oğuzhan Too, Orient Express and Provezza, gaining extensive national and international experience. After reducing his racing activity following the birth of his children in 2009 and 2011, he returned to full competition in 2018 by joining the Eker Sailing Team. Since then, he has remained actively involved in J/70, keelboat and Cape 31 classes, making significant contributions to the team’s development.
