ERMAN AYVAZ HELM

I was born in Istanbul in 1978. I started my sailing career between the ages of 14 and 16 through summer sailing schools, competing in centerboard classes, and continued my development with keelboat training in 2009. After completing my training, I joined various sailing teams and began my competitive racing career.

Since 2010, I have participated in numerous offshore and keelboat regattas, achieving several notable results. These include second place in the TAYK Trophy, first place in the IRC Championship, first place in the Turkish Naval Forces Cup, and first place at Marmaris Race Week. In addition, I have earned multiple podium finishes across different classes, continuously expanding my racing experience.

I currently continue my keelboat racing career in Istanbul with the yacht Logo and in Marmaris with the yacht Matrak.

I began my J/70 career in 2018 as a crew member and have been competing under my own team, Happy Hour, since 2023. From 2024 onwards, I have taken part in numerous international events abroad, including World and European Championships.

My goal in the J/70 class is to represent my country at the highest level internationally and to consistently challenge for top positions in large fleets, within a class whose technical and highly competitive nature continually drives my personal and team development.
