SARUHAN ÇİNAY MAINSHEET & TACTICS

Saruhan Çinay was born on September 27, 1988, in Istanbul. He began his sailing career in 1996 in the Optimist class and continued competing in the Laser, 420, and 470 classes. Throughout these classes, he achieved numerous national and international successes and represented his country as a national team sailor at the highest level.

He continued his career as a coach, serving as a National Team coach in youth and Olympic classes. During this period, he coached a club athlete who competed in the Laser class at the London 2012 Olympic Games, served as a National Team Coach at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, and achieved European and World Championship titles in the Laser class.

In 2018, he returned to competitive sailing with his J/70 program and achieved significant success in this class, including winning the 2021 Sportsboat European Championship, as well as multiple championship titles and podium finishes in the Sportsboat Turkey Championships and the J/70 Turkey League.

Throughout his racing career, he has competed and continues to compete as helmsman, mainsail trimmer, and tactician on high-performance racing yachts such as SB20, J/70, TP52, Farr 25, Farr 30, Farr 40, and Farr 55.

He currently continues his J/70 racing career with the Happy Hour team in the Mainsail & Tactician role.
