TOLGA RANGAVIS TRIMMER

Tolga Rangavis is one of the most experienced and respected figures in Turkish sailing. He began sailing in 1990 at the Istanbul Sailing Club’s sailing school and quickly developed a deep commitment to the sport as both an athlete and a coach.

Throughout his sailing career, Rangavis competed in Cadet, 4.70, and other classes, becoming the Turkish Champion in the 4.70 class in 1997. During this period, he also represented Turkey in prestigious competitions such as the European and World Championships and the Mediterranean Games.

After his competitive career, Rangavis focused on coaching. He had the opportunity to work extensively with Dr. Malte Philipp, head coach of the German Sailing Federation, deepening his expertise in performance training. Between 2000–2008, he served as a coach for the Olympic National Team and was the technical director of the Turkish team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

As an educator, Rangavis has built a strong profile, managing the Istanbul Sailing Club Sailing School and serving as its director from 2008–2010. In 2011, he transformed his passion for sailing into an educational mission by founding Ana Yelken. Today, Ana Yelken offers sailing education to all age groups and is one of the leading institutions in Turkey for sailing instruction, with camps and school programs.

Rangavis graduated from Marmara University School of Physical Education and Sports (Sailing Coaching) and holds a master’s degree from Istanbul Commerce University, Department of Business Administration. Additionally, he successfully completed the International Camp Director (ICDC) certification in 2013.
