Team MAYK

Team MAYK is a young and dynamic sailing team established within the club in 2024. Formed to compete in the J/70 class, the team is built on a foundation driven by youth—drawing its energy, ambition, and development-focused mindset from a new generation of sailors.

Since its formation, Team MAYK’s defining characteristic has been its highly motivated, disciplined, and goal-oriented crew, despite their young age. The team members are not only athletes who race together, but have gradually evolved into a close-knit group united by shared goals, mutual trust, and a strong sense of family. This bond is one of the key elements that sets Team MAYK apart from its competitors.

Team MAYK competes actively in the J/70 class under both IRC and ORC formats.

The team regularly takes part in Turkey’s leading sailing events, including:
• TAYK Trophy
• Istanbul Sailing Club (IYC) Yacht Trophy
• SportsBoat Trophy
• J/70 Turkey Tour

and has drawn attention with consistent podium finishes across these major competitions.

While many sailors have raced under the Team MAYK banner to date, the squad structure has always been shaped around friendship-based values combined with professional standards.
