The 2nd Leg races were held in Marmaris

The 4th Leg of the J/70 Association’s 2022 Turkey Tour was held in Istanbul as the Turkish Championship.

3. Ayak, 8 yarış olarak planlanmasına rağmen, hafif rüzgarlı olması nedeni ile 6 yarış olarak tamamlandı.
On the first day of racing, winds ranged between 5 and 8 knots, while the second day got underway in winds of 7–8 knots. On the final day, races were completed in winds reaching a maximum of 6 knots. Due to these consistently light breeze conditions, the series was concluded with a total of six races.
The races, conducted under the principal race officership of Can Giray, saw eight yachts registered. On the opening day, following the morning skippers’ briefing, the teams completed two races despite the hot weather. With crews placing a strong emphasis on young sailors, energy levels across the fleet were notably high. The third race scheduled for the second day could not be sailed due to insufficient wind. In addition to the light breeze, the teams also had to contend with high temperatures. On the final day, although racing began in winds of 5–6 knots, the breeze dropped to 2–3 knots on the second upwind leg, resulting in the use of a shortened course.
Based on the overall results of the 3rd Leg, the winners of the series were Ameera Jet, helmed by Emir İçgören and his crew. Joining the series at the 3rd Leg, HSSK Quick Sigorta, with Saruhan Çınay at the helm, delivered an impressive performance and finished the leg in second place. Third place was claimed by Denizcik, sailed by Gülboy Güryel and his crew.
The 4th Leg races of the series are planned to be held in Istanbul. Organized as the Turkish Championship, the 4th Leg invites all sailing enthusiasts to be part of this exciting event.
