
The J/70 Turkey Tour 2025 Season Has Started!

A Fast and Spectacular Start
Turkey’s largest sailing festival, the 13th TAYK–Eker Olympos Regatta, kicked off this year with the 3rd Leg of the J/70 Turkey Tour. Hosted by Setur Kalamış Marina, the event was marked by strong winds reaching 20–25 knots, giving the J/70 fleet an almost airborne sensation on the water. From the very first day, the teams lined up on the starting line in fierce competition, delivering an unforgettable visual spectacle on the Sea of Marmara.

A Battle for the Top from the Opening Days
Throughout the three days of J/70 Turkey Tour racing, the fleet was treated to nonstop excitement as the wind never let up.
- Day 1: Strong winds of 20–25 knots delivered high-tempo starts for the J/70 class.
- Day 2: Winds reaching up to 18 knots challenged the fleet while further raising the level of excitement.
- Day 3: The finals were completed with races sailed in 17–18 knots of breeze.

After a total of eight races, the overall standings were as follows:
- Bogatyrs
- Cheese Sailing
- Nautique Yachting
In the Corinthian division, MYSK–Gelner Sailing Team claimed top honors, while Nautique Yachting secured first place in the One-Pro category. In addition, the all-female Efsane Yoğurt team, helmed by Nevra Eker, was awarded the “Women’s Team Special Award.”

J/70 Match Race Excitement
As part of the festival, the J/70 Match Race special events, held for the second time in Turkey, took place on 12–13 August. Sailed off Moda Sailing Club with the participation of six teams, the races delivered intense head-to-head competition for spectators. With northeasterly winds blowing at 18–20 knots, more than 30 races were completed, and the Doğa Arıbaş Sailing Team successfully defended its title, claiming the championship once again in the second year of the J/70 Match Race.
With the J/70 Turkey Tour 3rd Leg and the J/70 Match Race events, the 13th TAYK–Eker Olympos Regatta once again provided thrilling moments for both sailors and spectators. Combined with Istanbul’s historic and geographic beauty, this major sailing festival once more highlighted the dynamism and competitiveness of the J/70 class.
Supported by live broadcasts, this spectacular celebration of sailing delivered an unforgettable experience for everyone closely following the J/70 class.
