J/70 Turkey Tour and 2018 Turkish Championship
The Turkey Tour, organized by the J 70 Turkey Class Association (J 70 TSB), was completed with 12 races held between August 30 and September 3 at D-Marin Turgut Reis as part of the Turkish Championship. The previous legs of the 2018 Trophy were organized by BAYK in Bodrum, MIYC in Marmaris, GYK/TAYK in Göcek, and finally by J 70 TSB in Bitez, respectively.
The championship, in which 5 of the 7 boats that are members of the association participated, started on August 30 with start training and the Official Trial Race. Contrary to the weather reports and the expectations of the racers, the stable wind did not exceed an average of 7-9, and a maximum of 12 DM in showers, but the close competition in both the trophy and the championship continued until the last race of the 4th day.
It was a good example of class solidarity that the duo Levent Özonur - Hasip Gencer, who competed sometimes together and sometimes as rivals in the first four legs, lent the mast of their boat Far Away Jr, which did not enter the race, to the Eker Kaymak boat, which broke its mast before the championship. In the other boat, Asteriks Jr, Oğul Batu Özonur was at the helm this time, while father Levent Özonur was in charge of the mainsail and tactics.
The good examples of the "winner takes all" competition between equal boats for 4 days often forced the Race Committee, headed by Can Giray, to use photo-finish conditions.

J70 Turkey Class Association
The J 70 Turkey Class Association, founded at the beginning of 2018 under the umbrella of the Turkish Sailing Federation by Ahmet Eker, Emir İçgören, Alp Doğuoğlu, Levent Özonur, Hasip Gencer and Ergin İmre, will reach 9 boats in the coming weeks with the participation of Vedat Tezman and the addition of two more boats known to be on order. It is planned that the autumn races in the continuation of the season will be held by J 70 TSB in Bodrum in November and December, and that the beginning of the 2019 Trophy will be further south.
In addition to the stable windward course of the boats, J 70 races, where speeds of up to 20 DM can be reached in the downwind course under suitable wind and gliding conditions, are organized in our country by J 70 TSB in accordance with the International Class Association (J 70 USB) regulations, with 4-person teams and within the framework of One Design (Equal Boat) and Owner / Driver rules. Sweet competition is traditionally reinforced at the dinners held on the evening of the first race day of each leg, with the participation of all teams.D-Marin j-70 Turkish Championship will be held on August 31 - September 3
