The 5th Leg of the J/70 Turkey Tour was held in Turgutreis.

A total of 11 yachts were registered for the series, which consisted of 11 races over four days. As the Turkish Championship featured the highest fleet participation of the season, four days of intense and thrilling racing were witnessed.
The regatta, held under the sponsorship of D-Marin, was hosted by the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Sailing Branch in Istanbul. The races were officiated by the jury panel under Chief Race Officer Can Giray, together with two international judges invited from abroad (George Paunov and Jan Stage).
Throughout the races, wind speeds measured between 17 and 18 knots, occasionally increasing up to 20 knots with passing squalls. On a well-set and thoroughly inspected race course, the crews engaged in fierce and closely contested competition.
Based on the results of the 11 races sailed over four days, the winner of the J/70 – 2022 Turkish Championship was Ahmet Eker and his crew aboard Eker Kaymak. Second place went to Gülboy Güryel and his crew sailing Denizcik, while third place was claimed by Levent Peynirci and his crew aboard Cheese Jr., with Peynirci competing as a helmsman in the fleet for the first time.
